The SAT is a multiple choice standardized test which is designed to measure the student's reasoning ability. It doesn't measure the student's intelligence! Students can increase their SAT score by preparing for the test in just 8 weeks!
Students learn test-taking skills and techniques from our teachers that will help them tackle the SAT with confidence. Teachers will refresh student's memory of the subjects tested so they can use their new found confidence to reach their testing goals. Students will be given practice exams in test-taking conditions to build up their speed and endurance.
Please note: Each student will be responsible for providing his/her own book. Jamie thinks that students can buy their books from a large book retailer for a lesser price than she can purchase books for resale thus saving the students' money. Students will be notified by email as to which book to purchase once they are enrolled in a test prep course.
Test preparation should not be a "one size fits all" proposition. Our online test prep course is an adaptive learning platform that diagnoses each student's individual strengths and weaknesses and creates a personalized study plan based on their needs and timelines. As students progress through the course, the program adapts to them.
Jamie’s SAT Prep Courses provide comprehensive guidance and content review across all SAT sections, including Reading, Writing, and Math. Prepare for the SAT with our flexible, 8-week long, asynchronous/online prep program designed to fit your schedule and learning style. All enrolled students receive unlimited access to our adaptive test prep software, while those enrolled in our Comprehensive course also benefit from live Q&A sessions, proctored practice exams, expert feedback, and personalized progress monitoring.
We offer three SAT Prep Course options to meet different needs and levels of support: Basic, Intermediate, and Comprehensive.

If students have taken the test and have found they need to work on certain sections of the SAT, they may enroll in one of our section-specific courses. The course is broken out by Critical Reading/Writing or Math. If you are interested in taking only one of the sections, please contact the office to register at info@jamiedickenson.com or 304-556-4807.
If you have a hectic, constantly changing schedule, or feel like you need individualized help in SAT test content, private appointments can be made with one of Jamie's tutors. Check out Jamie's appointment packages on the Fee Schedule page.
The SAT is a college entrance test. The digital SAT is composed of two sections: Reading and Writing and Math. Students have 64 minutes to complete the Reading and Writing section and 70 minutes to complete Math section for a total of 2 hours and 14 minutes.
Each section is divided into 2 equal length modules, and there is a 10-minute break between the Reading and Writing section and the Math section. The first module of each section contains a broad mix of easy, medium, and hard questions. Based on how students perform on the first module, the second module of questions will either be more difficult or less difficult.
Compared to the ACT®, the SAT provides 68% more time per question.
